A great travel guide to Cleveland, by NY Times

Thanks to my beautiful friend, Allison Sulzmann, all the way out in Phoenix, AZ for sending me this great article!  The New York Times travel section really dove into the little niches of Cleveland and shared some fantastic spots for visitors to scope out!  But, it’s also nice to hear about some places that I’ve yet to discover! They took 36 hours and broke it down into different activities, places to visit, stores to check out and restaurants to try in all the little neighborhoods of Cleveland. Picture by David Ahntholz for The New York Times

I was so excited to read this piece, because it’s exactly the kind of thing I’ve been talking about since I started this blog.  Cleveland is FULL of different cultural vibes, hang outs, boutiques and restaurants that span far beyond the Warehouse District and clubs on W6th. Although that’s fun too, why not try expanding your horizons and trying one of the many cool places around this fascinating city?

Be sure to check out this article and read about how awesome our hometown sounds :)

It would also be awesome if we could all add little replies about places we know around the city. POST POST POST!  Thanks again to Allison for this fabulous find, and author Brett Sokol for portraying our AMAZING city in such a beautiful and interesting light.

The Cleveland Bridge Project

I love having friends in Cleveland who are always looking for fun, new things to do. Otherwise, I may have missed out on a really AWESOME event this weekend! bridgeprojectThe Cleveland Bridge Project, a FREE  arts and food party being put on by IngenuityFest & KSU Urban Design Collaborative is this Friday and Saturday. The coolest part is that it’s located on the  entire span of the streetcar level of The Veterans Memorial Bridge (Detroit Superior Bridge).  I’ve always wondered what was up there and how to check it out.

The party kicks off at 4pm Friday afternoon and goes to midnight. Saturday’s events start at noon and continue on until midnight as well. From the looks of the schedule posted online, there’s going to be NO shortage of great music, food, and art to experience!  I actually know one of the DJ’s Spinning both nights, Garrett Moeller, who reported to me that it’s going to be one hell of a bash that will not disappoint.  What a creative venue to host such an amazing event! I can’t wait to check it out myself. I know I’ll be there Saturday with a pretty big group of people. :D   Oh, and just in case you were wondering, here’s a video explaining how to actually get up onto the lower level of the bridge. I’ll see you all there this weekend!
