Yet Another Amazingly Blonde Perk of Twitter
Since I joined the world of Twitter back a year or two ago, I’ve found nothing but great things about it. It’s helped my build out my Cleveland network bigger than I even imagined. I’ve promoted this blog and got some great momentum going (Thanks for the support, Tweeps!). Most importantly, I’ve made hundreds of new, smart, funny, witty, professional, inspirational friends that are as engaged in our lovely city as I am! I never expected that to happen, but I’m so glad to have them.
Just last night, I had a tweet-up with three amazing women (they just happened to be blonde
) I’m not biased, I swear!) who I’d never actually met before, but I knew
through our daily chatter via Twitter. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to get to know them. Kristen, Emily and Tammy were everything I’d hoped they’d be and more! To make it all the more interesting, all three women love to explore the city as much as I do. Whether it’s restaurants, art, music, whatever, we all understand how many cultural and amazing things that Cleveland has to offer. Tammy was the only non-Cleveland native, but that made it even more fun to share tips and gems of C-town with her.
We decided to start the night at Bar Louie for happy hour cocktails, since it was close to our dinner destination, Paladar. I’m never been the BIGGEST fan of Bar Louie, but then again I have nothing against it. They have great HH prices for
martinis and such. I can’t complain. Paladar was another story. I’ve been there once before and it was fun, but I wasn’t “WOW-ed” I guess. I had sat at the bar, which has a separate menu, and the food was pretty good. The restaurant has almost a chain restaurant feel, but it’s independent. This time around was a MUCH better experience! We started with guacamole, which I’m ALWAYS a fan of. (I “heart” avocados) Then we all picked a different appetizer off the menu. The food was good, but the service was phenomenal. Our server, Jill, was patient and friendly. I highly recommend you ask for her if you try this spot. The manager also came up to our table and talked to us about the food, gave us free ma-hi ma-hi tacos to try and even took multiple group pictures for us. He was extremely concerned with our experience. We even gave him some social media tips to help him out as well!
To bring it back full circle here, I really enjoyed my meal at Paladar with my new friends. The food was good and the company was fantastic. I’d definitely go back if someone planned a get-together or tweep-up there. Would I make an effort to back there on my own or on a date? Ehhh, doubtful. It definitely has a date-like feel to it though and I would recommend giving it a shot.
To my new friends, I can’t wait to get together again for #gnoCLE. For you non-twitter people, that’s “girls night out in Clevleand”.
Feel free to adopt the hashtags!
