This Little Blonde
Welcome! I’m Cara Marie Lageson and this is my blog of, well, my life and what’s interesting around the Cleveland area.

I love coffee. But, can't handle the caffeine, so I have to order half decaf.
I’m a 25 year old “wiggle-worm” with big dreams, big ideas, and even bigger blonde hair. Don’t let the hair fool you completely. A few blonde moments may happen here or there but I definitely have brains too. I’m a creative soul who loves art, photography, world cultures, and most of all, MUSIC. I can actually play 6 different instruments. While bubbly at times, my true friends know that what really makes me who I am is my cynical, sarcastic sense of humor (which I inherited from my father) .
I live in the hippie neighborhoods of Cleveland Heights, but I grew up in the suburbs of Northeast Ohio as the youngest of 2 girls with my loving parents. So, basically I’ve lived my entire life in the area. I attended Baldwin-Wallace College, about 15 minutes south of the city, and graduated with a bachelors in broadcasting and mass communications. I was known at BW for my ability to trek through any weather in high heels. Leaving home without at least mascara on was never an option, even if just to class, and I’ve been told that even my “comfy clothes” are too cute.
My junior year I had an internship at 19 Action News that changed my life. It was then that I knew I went to school for the right thing. I have a passion for the industry and the determination to someday be a reporter on the news. Since I’ve graduated, my days are spent producing and editing video and photoshopping at a local production studio and occasionally bartending at a local martini lounge.
So, why am I starting this blog site? To be honest, I don’t think that Clevelanders really get to appreciate or experience all the various culture that the small niches of the city have to offer. I believe this is mostly due to the fact that many don’t know where to look. This might be where my “wiggle-worm” nature can be of some use. I’m always on the move, looking for things to entertain me and hold my attention. Cleveland’s diversity, is what I love about living here. I was raised both Jewish and Lutheran by two very liberal, creative and accepting parents. Thanks to their guidance, I was able to develop a very open mind and an appreciation for any new art, music, culture and entertainment I can find. Besides, I’ve been working in the most popular bars of the city since I was 19 years old. I know the scenes, the politics, the good and the bad about Cleveland. While I may not be some kind of professional socialite, I do have some good insight on what is hip, fun, new and mind-expanding around here.

The Lageson Clan

My big sister, my best friend.
Whether you’re into the sports, the arts, or the nightlife of Cleveland, I’ll be covering it all. So, keep checking out my blog for some great ideas, suggestions and even a little peek into the life of a little blonde, trying to make her way in the city and find my break in the big world of TV news. I have a feeling that calling this an “adventure” may be a bit of an understatement.
See you around.
Love,
Cara

Hi Cara,
I know you want to get into TV reporting…
Has Walter Cronkite’s passing affected you in any way?
It has! He has truly inspired me and my future career dreams. Walter Cronkite is living proof that it takes just one person to leave a huge impact on the world. I can only hope to have a fraction of that impact in my lifetime. What a miraculous life he had!
Sorry it took so long for a response! Thank you for checking out my site! I’ve been slacking with it lately because I’ve been shooting my demo reel and trying to get them sent out. I’m going to have lots of updates soon so, keep on coming back!
I checked out your site/photographs. They are AMAZING! I would love to work with you in the future!

@rickuldricks
I found you through your retweets for CIM. I wanted to send you a msg, but couldn’t find your email on here. I’m going to link you on my site, & I just followed you on twitter.
GIRRRLLL! I need to know what you use to “volumize” that head of yours. My hair? Zero heights. LOL
Too cute, you are.
I live in the Heights as well. Maybe I’ll see you around sometime!
I really enjoyed your blog. I like reading about Cleveland happenings, but unfortunately we’re a little too far south to get up there a lot. Keep up the good work, it’s very interesting to us out-of-towners!
