Summer Happenings in Cleveland: Made in the 216

One of my very favorite creative minds and visionaries  in the CLE is Danielle DeBoe and she’s at it again with this year’s “Made in the 216″.

Danielle owns and operates a fabulous boutique in the Gordon Square Arts District called Room Service, and is constantly involved in and provoking forward-moving creative thinking in Cleveland.  She was also a speaker at Cleveland’s TEDXCLE event.

Personally, she’s inspired me to never give up on my dreams and passions and to pursue them courageously and diligently. That’s why I’m so proud to help get the word out about the upcoming “Made in the 216″ (not that she really needs it, haha).

Here’s the scoop:

Made in the 216 | Cleveland, Gordon Square | iCarabout

Made in the 216 | Cleveland, OH | iCarabout.com

How cute is the “love boat” flier?!

Now, I could regurgitate everything on these promotional fliers to you here, but I figure you probably would just look at them. :D But I also know the type is pretty small on here, so here’s some deets:

June 11: 4-10PM special MIDNIGHT showing of “Out of Place” at Capitol Theater (as seen at Cleveland International Film Festival)

June 12: 11-10PM with AFTER PARTY at the Happy Dog – it’s also Discover Gordon Square Arts District Day!

-60 CLE based designers

-Shopping including: apparel, furniture, jewelry, candles, kids, art, stationary, etc!

-DJ’s and bands all weekend (Over 7!!)

-Food from independent Cleveland caterers!

Danielle has really out-done herself this year, which I think is going to be a trend for the years to come. For those of you who didn’t go last year,  GET THERE THIS YEAR! There’s going to be more EVERYTHING – music/shopping/art/films/food/beer all from the LAND!

I’d like to end this post on this inspirational line: “Made in the 216 was designed and created by Danielle DeBoe to prove the viability of Cleveland as a place in which to base your creative endeavor.” <–gives me goosebumps just reading it! GO CLE!

Winners of the WMC Fest Shirts on iCarabout | Cleveland, OH

Published by Cara Lageson under General

Here are the winners of the WMC Fest shirts:

Chris M:  Big WMC love goes out from me to everyone (hopefully me too) involved. Cleveland has a rich cultural, creative and intelligent population. We’ve lacked a cultural festival to celebrate all these diverse creative oulets in one place. Like SXSW and NXNE, I hope WMC becomes THE event people identify with for years to come when people want to see what Cleveland has to offer.

Daniel N: I love WMC Fest because it combines the best of all art worlds and is deeply rooted in a grassroots way of presenting the best talent available. It combines the hard working aspects of artists with the deepest passion to share their art with as many people as possible.

Mary Lee: I’m looking forward to Weapons of Mass Creation because people just don’t realize what a creative city Cleveland really is and the more people support this, the more the word will get out!  @MaryLeeS

Remember, you’ve won not only a shirt for you but for your friend too! Head over to the WMC Fest this weekend and claim your prizes with Jeff Finley and the crew! If you have any questions, email me at caralageson@gmail.com and I’ll answer you ASAP!

A Boudoir Photoshoot Date Night in Cleveland

It’s really funny, the emails, offers and such I hear about because of iCarabout. People contact me all the time for various reasons after seeing my blog, but this has to be the strangest offer yet.

And by “strange” I mean totally awesome.

Savvy Avenue Cleveland contacted me about a week ago to talk to about a great possible gift idea for Jason.  I was intrigued. When they emailed me back, I found out that they were going to have an offer going with Intimate Boudoir Photography by Leah and they wanted to give me a go at it!

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I was a little intimidated by the thought of taking risque pictures with a stranger and then sharing my experience with all of Cleveland. BUT, I found out that wasn’t the case at all. The photos could be as revealing or conservative as you want them to be and you can even take the pictures with your guy if you want–and THANK GOD Jason wanted to! Plus, they’re just meant to be sexy pictures (like from a Victoria’s Secret catalog), not dirty or sleazy.

COUNT US IN!

What’s even better is this offer isn’t just extended to me! For a limited time Saavy Avenue is offering a major discount on this exciting experience for everyone to try.  You can try it on your own and surprise your man with some sassy pics, OR you can ask him to join you for a steamy photo session. Either way, it’s an awesome idea and we’re so pumped to try  it! ;)

ANYWAYS — If you’re interested in giving this a shot for over 5o% off the normal price, head over to http://www.savvyavenue.com/cleveland and order now!

For more information on Intimate Boudoir Photography by Leah, check out her site http://intimateboudoirbyleah.com/ — She’s got some sample photographs up, so you can see what she’s all about. Leah’s pictures are gorgeous!

Once Jason and I have our shoot, I’ll post about our experience and MAYBE even give you a sneak peek at a photo or two! ;)
