Case Western BME | Haiti Fundraiser Bar Night | Cleveland | iCarabout.com
Once again, the young professionals of this wonderful city of Cleveland cease to amaze me. Somehow these extremely busy Case Western Biomedical Engineering grad students find the time to continuously lend their time and generosity whenever it’s needed. Whether it be in our own city, country or around the world, these ambitious and kind-hearted individuals always find a fun way to bring people together for a great cause while having a fun time.
Come on out to B SIDE LOUNGE this Thursday night and help them make a difference over in Haiti.
Hello all! I know I’ve been M.I.A. for a while, but I’m glad to say that I’m back and ready to post more fun things to experience around Cleveland!
A lot has happened since my last posts…I won’t bore you with most of it. To start, I moved from Cleveland Heights back home to Painesville temporarily to save some money. It’s definitely a hike to work everyday, and we ALL know how wonderful my driving skills are. I was living in an apartment with my sister in the “Heights” and she decided to move to LA to live with her boyfriend. I’m so excited for them and all the new opportunities they’re sure to find out on the west coast! By the way, I’ll have to post a link to her boyfriend, Matt’s music. He’s an amazing composer and musician. Keep your eyes and ears open for that soon.
I’ve also switched my part time bartending gig from Bodega on Coventry, to The Map Room in the Warehouse District of downtown Cleveland. There’s really not much to tell as far as leaving that place. There weren’t enough summer hours to go around and I needed a change of scenery. Anyways, I’m really enjoying my new job! It’s pretty much the coolest place in the district if you ask me, but I’ll be posting something separately for the Map Room soon.
The biggest news lately is that I’ve made my professional news demo reel! I’ve recently traveled to the beautiful city of Chicago to meet up with Bob Hillman, a brilliant man who has been in the industry for years and years. He coached me through the process and helped me produce a fabulous reel! I even got to see a live newscast from the Fox studios in Chicago! I would definitely recommend his services to anyone looking for great advice about breaking into the industry. Hopefully I will soon enough. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask!
Here is the final product! Feedback is welcome.
By the way, I’m filling up an event calendar for the site! Send me any events/shows/galleries/etc. that you’ve heard about in the Cleveland area and I’ll make sure to post it! If you’d like to see my resume page, check it out at caralageson.com .
